Introducing the MD Compile Log Navigator

Introducing the newest addition to the MD programmer’s toolbox: the Compile Log Navigator.

It’s always rewarding when our developers create tools that become integral to MDChange. Once again, we’re excited to introduce another helpful tool, the Compile Log Navigator.

Locating compile errors can be a time-consuming task, but with MDOpen’s compile log, things just got easier. The new navigator

allows you to quickly pinpoint errors (sorted by severity) not only in the active source you’re working on, but also in any associated copybook and nested copybooks. The navigator swiftly identifies the problem and navigates you directly to its exact location in the source. Even informational messages can be easily accessed by clicking on them to view the associated source line.

Currently, the Compile Log Navigator is available in MDOpen for VSCode, with plans for inclusion in all flavors of MDOpen in the next point release. Take a look at the video for a quick demonstration of how the navigator enhances your workflow.
